Paladin Series — 3.5"

Paladin 350

The newest lure in the shop. Same roll, smaller body.

The Paladin 350 takes the Danny body and Pikie-style lip that make the 425 and 525 covering machines and builds them down to 3.5 inches — for clear water and pressured fish that want the flash without the size.

All the roll of the bigger Paladins. Built for finesse water.

The Paladin 350 is the newest lure to come out of the shop — the smallest version yet of the body-and-lip combination that makes the 425 and 525 such effective covering lures. The Danny-style body still carries its weight toward the tail, and the Pikie-style lip is still wider than a standard crankbait lip. Scaled down, that combination produces the same pronounced side-to-side roll in a profile small enough for water where a bigger lure gets refused.

That roll is what separates the Paladin line from the Rogue line at every size, and the 350 doesn't lose it just because it's smaller. It's a reaction-strike lure first — built to trigger fish that are watching, not necessarily feeding, rather than to imitate a specific baitfish perfectly.

Because the body and lip are both built down from the larger Paladins, the 350 is a newer, less proven design than the rest of the line. It fishes the same way in testing so far, but it hasn't had the years on the water that the 425 and 525 have. Expect the build to keep getting refined as it spends more time in front of real fish.

Like every lure in the shop, it's hand-built one at a time, which means small natural variation from one to the next is normal, not a flaw.

Danny Body / Pikie Lip — Scaled Down

Same two ideas. A smaller package.

The 350 carries the same design logic as the rest of the Paladin line: a tail-weighted Danny body paired with a wider-than-standard Pikie lip. Built down to 3.5 inches, the proportions get harder to hold — there's less wood and less lip to work with, and the balance has to be right or the roll falls apart. The goal was to keep the same action in a body small enough for water where the 425 doesn't belong.

The Danny body, scaled down

Tail-heavy weighting at a smaller scale, which still loads on the cast and contributes to the rolling balance on the retrieve — just with a lot less margin for error than the bigger Paladins.

The Pikie lip, scaled down

Hand-bent for the smaller body and tuned until the roll tracks clean. Same wider-than-standard profile that creates the Paladin's flash, just built for a lure a third smaller than the 525.

How It's Made

New design. Same standards.

Being the newest lure in the shop doesn't mean any corner gets cut.

Hand-turned wood body

Every Paladin 350 starts as a hand-turned wood body, shaped and weighted to hold the Danny profile's tail-heavy balance at a smaller scale. Natural grain means slight variation from one lure to the next — expected, not a defect.

Multi-coat epoxy finish

Color applied by hand, then sealed in the same durable, high-gloss epoxy used on every lure in the shop. Built to take a strike, a rock, and a winter in the tackle box without losing its finish.

VMC hooks, Spro hardware

VMC #6 hooks sized to match the smaller body, with Spro swivels and stainless steel split rings — the same hardware standard used on every lure here, just sized down.

Where It Belongs

Berkshire water. Three situations the 350 should handle well.

As a brand-new lure, the 350's best water is still being figured out on the water. These are the situations it's designed for — a downsized, flashier alternative for the moments the Rogue 350 doesn't quite fit.

Richmond Pond — Early Morning

Active fish, shallow water

Early in the day, before the sun pushes fish off the shallows, a small lure with a flashy roll is built for active feeders. The 350 covers water quickly without overwhelming a finesse presentation.

Technique: steady medium retrieve, parallel to the shoreline

Laurel Lake — Clear Water

Smaller profile, same flash

In clear water, a big rolling lure can spook more than it triggers. The 350 keeps the Paladin's reaction-strike flash in a profile that doesn't put fish on alert before they've had a look.

Technique: long casts, slow-to-medium retrieve, let the roll do the work

Lake Buel — Pressured Fish

When the bigger Paladins get refused

On lakes that see heavy traffic, fish that have already turned down the 425 and 525 are a reasonable target for the 350 — same action, smaller commitment for a fish that's grown cautious.

Technique: downsize first, vary retrieve speed until you find a response
